Workshops--Suggestions?

Here is a list of the workshops I am offering in my district this spring. Take a look and let me know what you think they should include. I have not yet created all of the material or the syllabus for most of them, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  • Digital Storytelling
  • Adobe Photoshop
  • Podcasting
  • Writing in the Era of the MySpace Generation
  • Do you Wiki?
  • Social Bookmarking
  • Google Applications
  • Adobe InDesign
  • Using the Interactive Whiteboard
  • Welcome to Web 2.0
Also, if you run something similar in your district, or have attended something similar, I would love to hear about it.

How about something that teaches people how to blog effectively- like everything else, there are so many blogs to choose from and it would be neat to have people go through the process of finding and/or creating useful blogs.

I'm doing an internet safety workshop - one for teachers and one for parents. I think parents would appreciate this information.

drussell,

Could you provide me with some of the topics you are going to discuss with your staff and the parents? I think that type of workshop is in the near future for me.

Thanks.

Hi Patrick
You can check out iSafe http://www.isafe.org/ for your internet safety workshop.
I have some other information for digital storytelling and podcasting that I will send when I am back in the office. Robin

I agree on the issue of getting people out here and helping them find their communities. One of the most important things that was told to me when I started blogging was to find something you are passionate about, and everything will from then on will be driven by what you want to know, not what you are told you have to know.

Robin,

Thanks for that link; I will check into that and include it in my pile of resources. Anything else you could pass along would be of great help as well.
